Momentos Para Recordar
Hola a todos!!!
There are moments as a missionary that you can never really forget. This week's temple trip was one of those moments. Pedro, a recent convert that my companion taught, came to the temple for the first time to do baptisms for the dead. We got to watch him enter the font and make those sacred covenants for those who have passed. The part I will always remember was as he came out of that water, he was so full of the Spirit, his whole countenance was light, and he was just so happy. Not the temporal, worldly kind of happy, the joy that is only attainable through the gospel. We got a call from a friend the next day about how Pedro felt so inspired to be a better person, and how much he wanted to go back to the temple, and it just made my heart so full. It's moments like these that make the hard days worth it.
We had a lesson with Pedro at his friends' home, the Vidals, later that week, and were blessed with another one of those unforgettable moments. Pedro's brother, Mauricio, had come from Mexico to stay for awhile, and having seen the change in his brother, he wanted to meet with us too! We read out of the Book of Mormon in 3 Nephi 17 with him, and gave him his own copy. Pedro owned that lesson! He bore his testimony straight from the heart, so sincere and powerful. Even though I've only known Pedro for the past 6 weeks, I'm inspired by his faith and example every day.
Sad news is, today is my last day with Hermana Hibbard. I've come to love and look up to her so much. She has taught me to never give up, to be bold in my testimony, and that if I'm not having fun on the mission, I'm not doing it right. :) I'll never forget our pie-smashed faces, sand fight in beach volleyball, or her insanely good potatoes. But mostly, I'll never forget the friend she was not only to me, but to so many others here in Kentucky. We're all going to miss her so much!
I love you all! Sorry I don't have a ton of time today, but my little spiritual thought for y'all is to go read Psalms 34:4! :)

I'll try to send some photos soon!
