Confiar En Él

Hey everyone!!! Feliz lunes!!!

This past week I learned a lot about trusting in first promptings. The Spirit is so key to missionary work, and oftentimes its easy to second or third guess what God is trying to tell us. Following that first prompting is how you see miracles! They are all around you, we just need the patience and faith to recognize them.

I went on exchanges this week with Sister Talbot! Love her! It was nice to just take a break from all the craziness in our area :). We had a dinner with two members who haven't been able to come to church and when we shared our spiritual thought about covenants, one of them opened up about what's been holding her back. I was prompted to share some of the challenges I've gone through and as I did, I felt the Spirit so strong and so much compassion and love for this sister who I'd just met. I think she just needed to know she was loved, and I hope she felt that from her Heavenly Father. That's the blessing of being a missionary, you get to feel His love for His children so often.

We had an amazing lesson with our friend Mauricio on Thursday! His brother, Pedro, was baptized about 3 months ago, and after seeing the change in him, Mauricio wanted the same :). We had had a couple lessons with them before, but this was Hermana Peine's first time meeting them! We were trying to find a room to have the lesson and there were some people waiting for English class and they decided to join us for the beginning of the lesson! There were three members, Mauricio, me and Hermana Peine, and three ec people in that tiny classroom, it got pretty warm lol. We started teaching the Restoration and taught the first three principles to everyone before the ec people left for class, but they seemed really interested! That lesson got really spiritual, especially as we recited the 1st vision and then asked Pedro to share his testimony. He talked for ten minutes just sharing everything that was in his heart, and the Spirit got so powerful! The crazy part was when Hermana Peine bore her testimony and then started to invite him to be baptized! I looked over at her with my face completely calm but inside I was freaking out! Totally not the plan! I decided to just stop doubting and listen. I closed my eyes and could still feel the Spirit so strong, I decided to trust in that feeling and in Hermana Peine's willingness to follow her first prompting. Mauricio thought about it and said yes! We still have a lot to teach, but he is so ready!

I love being out here serving the Lord. When it gets hard, you have those miracles and little moments that help you remember why you're there and that God is aware of you. I know this with all my heart. He is there every step of the way. Trust in the promptings of the Spirit, know they come directly from a loving Heavenly Father who knows each of us personally.

Yo sé que tenemos un Padre Celestial quien nos ama perfectamente. Él siempre está con nosotros, cada paso del camino. Si podemos tener confía en Él y Su voluntad, vamos a ver milagros.

I love you all!!!
